Emmy Rossum and Justin Long are set to topline a new indie romantic comedy which is set in a parallel universe. Color us intrigued!
Deadline reports that the quirky film, titled “Comet“, will “bounce back and forth over the course of an unlikely but perfectly paired couple’s six-year relationship”, with writer-director Sam Esmail describing it as ” … about the drama, comedy and utterly surreal state of heartbreak — a subject in which I am well versed”.
Long, who has previously starred in romantic comedies such as “He’s Just Not That Into You” and “Going The Distance“, was most recently seen at the Tribeca Film Festival where he premiered “In Case Of You” which also starred Evan Rachel Wood and which Long had co-scripted. Rossum impressed us with her supporting turn in this year’s adaptation of the Young Adult novel “Beautiful Creatures”. A regular award contender for her role on TV’s “Shameless”, she recently completed work on “You’re Not You”, co-starring Hilary Swank.
